Network Administrator

My Dublin based client is looking for a Network Administrator to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a successful business in the heart of Dublin with a great work culture and professional training opportunities.

Job Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including: firewalls, routers, and switches.
• Monitor network performance to assure it is secure, reliable, available, and appropriately backed-up.
• Support various networking protocols such as DHCP, DNS, IPSec, SSL.
• Resolve issues and provide ongoing support on networking devices, such as applying hotfixes and firmware updates.
• Implement security procedures and policies.
• Contribute to upcoming projects to expand networking and cloud solutions

Experience Required

• 2-5 years’ experience in a similar technical support / network support / network administration role.
• Must have solid networking experience with proven track record of configuring firewalls, switches and routers

Essential and Desirable Skills

• Firewalls such as: Sophos, Fortinet, SonicWall etc.
• Knowledge of protocols such as: DHCP, DNS, IPSec, SSL
• Broad technical knowledge across areas such as ticketing systems, antivirus, disaster recovery, etc
• Experience in cloud solutions would be a bonus but not essential

Educational Requirements

• Degree in IT or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Relevant IT / Network / Cloud certifications would be highly desirable but not essential
