My Dublin based client is looking for a Malware Analyst to join the team on a permanent basis.
Role
-Identify new trending malware distribution methods to improve product efficacy while collaborating with the Threat Research team and sharing new findings with the global team.
-Analyse available information and develop methods of detection / removal of malware to improve current processes with custom made tools / scripts or software to be shared globally.
-Write, review and organize technical content that will be published to the Threat Blog, the Knowledge Base or shared by Sales / Marketing for use by our internal / external customers.
-Ability to handle multiple remote troubleshooting sessions and possess the ability to provide even further diagnostic analysis of any malware detection to our consumer / business customers.
-Utilize proprietary tools and follow emerging technologies and malware trends within the Threat Landscape to identify new and propagating threats while keeping up to date on what to expect.
-Manage the priority of new incoming tickets / escalations and ensure that any appointments or escalations with customers are scheduled and resolved with detailed notes in a timely manner.
Skills
-Experience in a support environment (preferably analytical / problem solving, internet security or anti-malware) or equivalent experience.
-Vast understanding of all Windows OS file / folder structures, registry, security features, browsers, firewalls, privileges, group policies etc.
-Mandatory experience working with modern day malware including ransomware – in terms of diagnostics, understanding and remediation methods.
-Knowledge of the common network protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, SMTP, DNS, HTTP) with experience in investigating, configuration and reviewing of networking issues.
-Excellent written and verbal communications skills required for user of our internal ticketing systems, blogs, private notes, emails and for user call-backs / escalations.
-Some Apple Mac OSX knowledge is desired including file / folder structures, user permissions and preferences and the Mac Malware landscape.
