Linux Administrator

My unique South Dublin based client is looking for a Linux Administrator to join their team. You will be working in a small IT team, supporting internal users internationally. Depending on your skillset, this role has the potential to further expand and offer professional development and progression opportunities. This role will require you to be in the office so you will ideally live within commutable distance of South Dublin.

Job Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact in providing both Tier 1 and Tier 2 IT support
• Utilise open source technology such as Linux, My SQL, Apache and Nginx
• Provide IT and training support to colleagues and clients
• Maintain network & security systems and perform analysis where necessary
• Support the functionality of devices and systems for all staff members
• Understand and optimize the existing IT systems
• Integrate data recovery and retrieval processes

Experience Required

• Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a Level 1-2 IT Support / IT Administration role
• Linux experience is essential (Ubuntu, CentOS)
• Experience with networking (firewalls, routers, switches)
• Proficiency with data back up and retrieval processes

Desirable Skills

• Linux skills are essential
• Knowledge of security, hardware, network devices, phones and workstations
• Troubleshooting skills
• An interest in IT security is preferable

Educational Requirements

• A university degree in IT or related discipline – or relevant experience
