Responsibilities
Technical & Operational SupportĀ
- Red Hat Enterprise, Red Hat Satellite & Puppet.
- Microservices Architecture.
- Openshift, Docker & Kubernetes.
- Jenkins & Artifactory.
- Tomcat, Apache, HAproxy, VRRP & Squid.
- Opsview, Splunk & OSSEC.
- Scripting with Bash & Python.
- Hybrid On-premise Vmware and & Amazon AWS hosting platforms.
- A working knowledge of Windows Server 2012 & Active Directory 2012 or greater.
- Taking ownership for any assigned incidents, requests and other ticket types associated with the Linux hosting environment.
- Troubleshoot issues with ICT services in conjunction with Information Services colleagues.
- Coordinate the communications associated with critical tickets including Priority one and two incidents.
- Follow up with other support staff involved in resolution to advise the status of their open tickets and ensure incidents are resolved, requests are fulfilled, and the User communication is complete.
Ticket ManagementĀ
- Taking ownership for any assigned incidents, requests and other ticket types associated with the Linux hosting environment.

Continuous ImprovementĀ
- Expand technical knowledge of currently supported IT services with the goal of being able to resolve and also prevent the most challenging of technical issues.
- Document issue resolution information and update relevant knowledge bases.
- Develop clear, concise requirements and create design documents where necessary.
- Automate current processes where possible using tools currently deployed within the organisation.
- Work with vendors regarding new software enhancements / upgrades.
Requirements
- A higher level qualification is preferable.
- Three years relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of ITIL principles up to ITIL foundation level.
- An ability to work under pressure to meet aggressive deadlines.
Technical Skills Requirement:
- Proficient in all elements of Systems Administration on Red Hat Linux.
- Good working knowledge in the product set listed in the Technical & Operational Support section.
