My client is a reputable legal firm known for its expertise in litigation and commitment to providing high-quality legal services. With a strong focus on client advocacy and professional excellence, we strive to deliver optimal outcomes for our clients across various legal matters. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive administrative support to our litigation department, assisting attorneys in managing caseloads, preparing legal documents, and maintaining efficient office operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with all aspects of litigation case management, including filing court documents, scheduling hearings, and organizing trial materials.
  • Draft and proofread correspondence, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents with meticulous attention to detail and adherence to legal formatting requirements.
  • Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate appointments with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Conduct legal research using online databases and other resources to support case preparation and provide relevant information to attorneys.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical files, ensuring accurate and timely document retrieval and storage.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal proceedings, both in person and via phone and email.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as answering phones, processing mail, and managing office supplies to support efficient office operations.
  • Uphold confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information and client matters.

Experience Required

  • A min of 1 – 2 years in Litigation
  • Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant with a focus on litigation within a legal firm.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal software applications
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to compose professional correspondence and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation, proofreading, and data entry.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and court rules related to litigation practice.
  • Familiarity with specific areas of litigation practice relevant to the firm’s focus

Essential and Desirable Skills

Litigation experience is a must.

Educational Requirements

Certification as a Legal Secretary or Paralegal.
