Job Description
My Dublin based client is looking for a Learning Technologist to join their team and be responsible for configuring, maintaining and administering the virtual learning environment and technology.
Job Responsibilities
Software Resources
- Establish a learning technology team to review and develop software and technology products for use in delivery of education programmes
- Advise and assist with technology supported learning through research, workshops and one on one lecturer / tutor support
- Contribute to strategy and policy development by providing expert advice, identifying needs and opportunities for the development or deployment of learning technologies
Technology enhanced curricula
- Assist faculty on the use of current technologies (Moodle, Echo 360 and zoom)
- Identify new areas and functions of Moodle which can be better used and enhance the learning experience for students
- Investigate and identify areas where technology can be used to enhance teaching and learning and identify, cost and recommend appropriate solutions where necessary
- Identify other / new learning technology solutions that might be used in future courses or assessments by the organization.
Support for online learning and teaching
- Provide Virtual Learning Environment support to Faculty on the delivery of classes online
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues for students and Faculty as they arise
- Support faculty in the design and development of computer-based materials to support students in their online learning
- Support and manage storage of online materials
Experience Required
The successful candidate must have the following qualifications and experience:-
- Educated to Degree Level or above or equivalent experience gained in a relevant working environment
- Thorough working knowledge of Moodle for both course administration and for the delivery of online learning (e.g activity creation, structured collaborative learning etc)
- Experience of working with tutors/ subject matter experts to design and deliver online and blended courses and to transform materials designed for in-person teaching to online / blended learning formats
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of e-learning software and associated standards and formats
- Familiarity with authoring tools
- Awareness of usability issues and best practice
- Relevant experience of multimedia content delivery using a virtual learning environment
- Experience of working within an established e-learning/education provider is desirable
- Project management experience evidenced by an ability to manage own work and deliverables, risk management
- Knowledge of GDPR and its implications for online / blended learning

Working Hours & Benefits
- Standard working hours, 37.5 hours per week
- Evening or weekend work may be required at various stages to align with the delivery of teaching
