Job Description

My Dublin West Client is looking for an experienced Lead QA Engineer to join my clients team on a permanent basis.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensuring high quality projects being deployed by the delivery teams
  • Review architecture, requirements, code and configuration for specific projects
  • Conduct code reviews, ensuring that quality standards are met
  • Define and document new Solution Assurance processes to be adopted
  • Update general recommendations on coding standards. common errors and best practices
  • Report key trends and issues found to management
  • Interface with the Product and Test Groups regarding product releases and new features

Experience Required

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a software quality assurance function
  • Proven track record in delivering technical reviews of software deliveries to ensure compliance with best practices
  • Capable both working as an individual and as a team player
  • Experience working in an environment that adheres to a quality management system and have a customer-focused mindset
  • Experience leading or mentoring junior engineers
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)

Essential and Desirable Skills

  • Experience of developing solutions using best-in-class tooling, such as IDEs, source code and deployment control systems, automated build and test systems is also highly desirable
  • Project Management skills
  • Knowledge of Agile frameworks and SDLC
  • Strong working experience in Unix/Linux
  • Extensive experience in scripting, using e.g. shell, tcl, DCL, Perl
  • Database technology experience (ideally Oracle)
  • Experience working on multi-threaded applications
  • Detailed understanding of the telecom networks and OSS/BSS applications

Educational Requirements

  • Relevant Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent degree
