Job Description

My client is recruiting for a Java Software Developer to join the development team. This is permanent role. The successful candidate must come from a strong Java Design background.

Overview

My Dublin City Centre based client is recruiting for a Java Software Developer this is a permanent role. The successful candidate must have a strong Java Design and Development background and experience working in an Agile environment would be an advantage.

Technical Skills Required

  • Application stack of Java, Spring Boot, Docker, Apache Tomcat, etc.
  • Strong Java design and development experience
  • Strong knowledge of operational concerns such as monitoring, mean time to recovery, application performance, etc.
  • Previous experience in a similar architecture role
  • BSc/MSc degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related discipline

It would be an advantage if you have experience with some of the below:

  • Experience with Cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with Container orchestration such as Kubernetes
  • Experience with API design such as RESTful principles
  • Knowledge of NoSQL technologies, e.g. Cassandra
  • Experience with any of the following: Openstack, Jenkins Pipelines
  • Experience with any of the following: Cucumber, Sonar, Chef, Consul, Kubernetes, Docker, BDD
  • Strong application process flow and problem solving techniques
  • Knowledge and extensive use of common tools used by the engineering group: version control, change management, automated builds, continuous integration, automated testing modelling etc.
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment
