Job Description

Dublin City Centre Financial Services client requires a Java Developer for a permanent role with a good knowledge of Spring.

The Role

  • The ideal candidate will have experience developing Java web services and/or Java integration components, combined with a keen appetite for all aspects of software development.
  • The role covers all stages of the software development lifecycle from new applications to existing system enhancement, and will also include the maintenance and support of our systems.
  • Working within our agile team you will need to collaborate with other technical and business teams. So communication and co-operation skills are very important.

The Technologies

Our application platform is a distributed architecture comprised of the following technologies:-

  • Jersey, Jackson and Retrofit for restful web services and their clients.
  • Apache Camel for integration and task scheduling.
  • Spring for Dependency Injection.
  • Angular for UI’s.
  • Junit, Mockito and Cypress for testing.
  • Oracle for data storage.
  • Deployed to Redhat Jboss EAP and IIS on Windows Servers.

Experience Required

  • 3-4 years Java programming experience.
  • Knowledge of Spring.
  • Good SQL.
  • Sound knowledge of software engineering principles and theory.
  • Understanding of Agile Methods such as Kanban and Scrum.
  • Communication and influencing skills.
  • Can build and maintain relationships.
  • Planning and organising skills.
  • Drive for Results.
  • Can think creatively and innovate.

Essential and Desirable Skills

  • Enterprise Integration Patterns, Domain Driven Design,  Microservices
  • JBoss / Tomcat /  Apache Camel / Spring boot.
  • Maven, Ant, Subversion, JIRA, Confluence.
  • Test Automation techniques/TDD, Continuous Integration with Jenkins.
  • Web application development in JavaScript / TypeScript / Angular.
  • C# .NET,  PL/SQL

Educational Requirements

  • An honours degree in a computer related discipline.
