Job Description
My Dublin-based client is actively looking to recruit an IT Security & Networks Operations Lead on a permanent basis.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the Enterprise Security Manager in leading the team to deliver on operational KPIs and project targets, managing expenditure and recruiting and developing team members
- Supervise the team to develop, support and optimise data networks, security tools (such as end-point protection and SIEM), security appliances, web gateways, email gateways, web proxy solutions and other identified infrastructure
- Allocate team resources to meet priorities, manage issues as they arise, coach staff, provide technical expertise and act as an escalation point
- Report progress against project targets and operational KPIs to the Enterprise Security Manager, escalating risks and issues (e.g. resource requirements) as required
- Provide effective stakeholder management of both internal and external parties (technical and non-technical) including vendors and service providers
- Supervise the team in the asset management of network and security equipment including inventory maintenance, warranty management, vendor support and configuration backups
- Manage a third-party security operations service providing security monitoring, threat detection, incident response and incident investigation
- Collate the necessary information to develop and deliver regular security reports
- Partner with the IT Security Architecture & Policy team to develop security architecture standards and controls and to ensure compliance with security policy
- Support the introduction of new tools, processes and technologies including the provision of support and resource capability to deliver projects
- Promote high standards of platform design, operation and availability and ensure that support capabilities during and outside normal working hours are maintained
- Review and develop internal procedures, processes and documentation
Experience Required
Essential:
- 6-8 years’ relevant experience in a security and/or network environment
- Track record of managing teams and maintaining effective relationships with management
- Experience of managing vendors and achieving value for money
- Significant technical knowledge of IT Infrastructure ideally including security appliances, intrusion prevention/detection systems, SIEM tools, vulnerability management tools, directory services, host-based security technologies, data networks and protocols
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Self-starter, ability to operate with minimal supervision
- Experience of working in a quick paced, dynamic environment
- Demonstration of excellent organisation and time management skills
- Effective communicator, both in verbal and written communications to business and technical audiences
- Experience in researching technologies and developing high level designs
Desirable:
- Security Industry certifications (or on a study path towards) such as CISSP, CISM, SANS GIAC, CFCE, GCFA, Comptia Security+
- IT Network industry certifications such as CCNP, CCNA, CCIE or CWNA
- Experience of best-practice delivery of IT services using ITIL
- Experience in systems administration (Windows, Linux) and knowledge of associated security controls
- Experience supporting business critical IT Infrastructure in a 24X7 environment
Educational Requirements
- Third level qualification or equivalent in a technical discipline
