IT Project Manager

Job Purpose: To be responsible for the delivery of complex IT projects, migrating from a largely waterfall based methodology to the establishment of an Agile delivery framework.

Summary:

This role will lead the planning, co-ordination and delivery of complex technology projects, working closely with different areas of the company, helping colleagues to accomplish their business goals. The successful candidate will be involved in, and responsible for, every aspect of a project from information gathering, scoping and documentation to project tracking, reporting and evaluation.

Proven experience in a Scrum Master lead role is required, embedding an agile delivery lifecycle across multi-functional teams to deliver (primarily) software change which meets business and technical objectives.

This role requires exceptional communication, organisation and technical skills. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years technical programme/project management experience and hold a technical degree or equivalent. In addition to a Scrum Master qualification, at least one other project management related methodology is expected (PMP, Prince 2, Lean Six Sigma).

Main accountabilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Lead the planning and implementation of projects, migrating where appropriate from an a largely waterfall based methodology to an agile framework
• Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables
• Plan and schedule project timelines
• Document functional and technical specifications
• Define project tasks and resource requirements
• Develop full scale project plans
• Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders
• Perform requirements gathering and analysis
• Assemble and coordinate project staff
• Develop and implement test plans to ensure successful delivery of a project
• Manage project budgets
• Manage project resource allocation
• Track project deliverables using appropriate tools
• Provide direction and support to project team
• Quality assurance
• Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions
• Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs
• Project evaluations and assessment of results

Education, Knowledge, And Experience

• Technical primary degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ technical programme / project management experience required.
• Scrum Master qualification and lead experience required
• At least one other project management related methodology is expected (PMP, Prince 2, Lean Six Sigma)
• Experience of both Agile and Waterfall development lifecycles is essential; experience in implementing Agile methodology would be a bonus.
• Ability to be flexible and to adapt to new technologies is essential.
• Significant demonstrated capability to engage effectively with Business stakeholders and establish collaborative trusted working relationships required to deliver complex technology/business solutions.
