My Dublin based client is recruiting for an IT Manager this is a perm role with an excellent client. The successful candidate should come from a really strong project management background.

Overview

My Dublin based client is recruiting for an IT Manager to join the team. The successful candidate should come from a really strong project management / business analysis background. The IT Manager will support the country leadership team, represents the global Digital Solutions / Information Technology organization in the country, will support to simplify processes, improve operations and adapt IT systems locally. Develops country IT strategy, aligned to the overall group IT and digitalization strategy. Implement corporate programs locally, ensure local needs are considered in the overall group strategy, funding and roadmap. Provide support to local business needs.

BUSINESS ALIGNMENT:

  • Adapts group digitalization strategy to the local business environment, provides continuous input and feedback to the group IT management about the local environment, ensuring those needs are considered in strategy, roadmap and funding. Constantly communicates between global IT and the local business leadership team.
  • Ensures group IT policies, procedures and guidelines are implemented in the country.
  • Manages local business leadership expectations towards digital capabilities, ensures digital is an integral part of local business strategy – both in the context of opportunities and constraints.
  • Provides continuous education to local staff on information technology risk and compliance implications with special focus on information security and data management.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

  1. Leads local IT staff:
    • Communicating job expectations
    • Planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
    • Motivating, coaching, advising and disciplining employees
    • Initiating, coordinating and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

 

  1. Maintains staff by:
    • Recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
    • Maintaining a safe and secure work environment
    • Developing personal growth opportunities.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Defines and executes local projects, deploys global projects (both application, infrastructure and information security) in the country
  • Ensures localization needs are well articulated in global / group programs to meet local market and regulatory requirements
  • Applies group program and project management practices and policies in execution: follows the program/project management process, sets budget, resource plan and timeline. Ensures that system development goals are set and that they are achieved within the constraints of time and budget
  • Occasionally involved to global projects on a need base

BUSINESS SUPPORT

  • Ensures that IT operational execution meets the highest professional levels and those required by the end-user community and other internal/external stakeholders
  • Maintains quality service by implementing global operational policies and procedures, educates partners and end-users on how to leverage these services (e.g. incident management, asset management, change management, etc). Provides input to global stakeholders on improvement opportunities.
  • Serves as the escalation point to local staff for information technology or system problems.
  • Provides country-specific input to IT budget planning and management process.
  • MSc / BSc degree in computer science, engineering or economics
  • 8+ years experience, including 3 years management experience
  • Business oriented mindset, good level of understanding business strategies and the language of finance
  • Proven track record in successful program / project delivery
  • Process-thinking
  • IT (professional and technical) skills
  • Ability to apply and deploy best practices to local needs
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong leadership and decision making skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Understanding of complex information and requirements
  • Good prioritization skills and be flexible enough to adapt plans
  • Ability to explain complex systems in simple terms

An ability to work to tight deadlines and within constraints
