IT Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Work as part of the engineering teams to develop secure, robust and scalable solutions and services
• Collaborate with the Product teams to implement new features for IT products in line with the approved business requirements
• Work closely with the Solution Architect(s) and design authority to ensure correct designs are implemented
• Document solution-specific technical designs, standards, training material and best practices
• Resolve bugs and performance issues in a test-driven environment
• Identify the areas for process improvements
• Participate in cross-functional teams to promote technology strategies, analyse/test products, perform proofs-of-concept, and pilot new technologies or processes
• Operate as a point of escalation for products developed and running in production

Experience Required

• 2+ years of experience in a similar role in an IT projects/production environment
• SQL development skills including coding – desirable, performance tuning, error handling / supportability, code version management. UNIX skills will be of benefit
• Experience in Test Approach and Test Script writing is desirable
• Experience partnering with third party vendors and hybrid teams
• Experience with Applications across multiple business units
• Experience with different project management methodologies such as Waterfall, DevOps, Agile, Kanban
• Ability to build and sustain relationships that deliver results and effectively collaborative with diverse teams

Essential and Desirable Skills

• Strong communication skills – both verbal and written and a strong attention to detail and the ability to manage complex problems in a logical manner
• Personable, proactive, excellent interpersonal with the ability to interact and influence effectively at all levels across the business to get initiatives delivered

Educational Requirements

• IT orientated Third Level degree or Masters
