Top Financial client looking for an experienced IT Compliance Officer to join their team.

IT Compliance Officer

Reporting to the Compliance Manager. The role will involve assisting in the creation, facilitation and oversight of regulatory change management projects and regular regulatory change reporting activity. The role holder will also from time to time provide additional support to business lines to manage their relevant regulatory requirements.
The position will interact with other key bank functions including Legal, Credit, Treasury, Finance, Risk, Fraud and Operations. Due to the responsibilities associated with the role adjustments to titles and internal reporting lines, in accordance with regulatory requirements, may be deemed appropriate.

Principal accountabilities of Position

  • Responsible for managing a portfolio of regulatory change projects;
  • Progress assigned regulatory change projects in accordance with the Bank’s regulatory change programme requirements;
  • Key duties includes, but is not limited to, creating Project artefacts, issuing impact assessments, designing and creating suitable assessment documentation (e.g. gap analysis reviews), conducting workshops in conjunction with relevant support groups (including Legal team and relevant subject matter experts) and relevant business line stakeholders.
  • Regular reporting on progress and/or risks of assigned projects to relevant internal stakeholders;
  • Escalate any identified breaches or material RCM risk issues to the Compliance Manager as required;
  • Maintain good stakeholder engagement and build ongoing relationships with the key stakeholders;
  • Provide additional support to the Compliance Manager as required.

Essential experience, skills and competencies:


  • Have a relevant third level qualification (e.g. law, business, finance, etc.), with a Diploma in Compliance (or similar) beneficial.
  • 2 – 3 years’ experience in Financial Services (particularly banking) and in a compliance, risk or internal control role preferred.
  • Experience, and/or certification, in project/program management an advantage.


  • Strong written, verbal and administrative skills – attention to detail important.
  • Comfortable working as a self-starter and as part of a wider team.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships vital.
  • Experience in interpreting complex technical information (e.g. financial services regulation) an advantage
