Job Description

Dublin City Centre Financial Services client requires an IT Business Analyst for a 6 month contract with experience of Waterfall and Agile Software Development Life Cycles.

My Client is seeking to recruit an IT Business Analyst responsible for the planning, analysis and testing of solutions for projects and business requests and provide second level production support. The role will report to the Delivery Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Working as part of the Delivery team to understand customer needs and the IT required to support the capabilities of the business.
  • Delivery of technology solutions appropriate to those customer needs and maximise straight-through-processing, reduce business risk, and improve efficiency.
  • Performing the Analysis and Testing aspects of the SDLC as well as Interacting with other members of the team on the design and delivery of these solutions.
  • Ensuring solutions are delivered in accordance with applicable standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Take on a project management role to manage delivery of a project or sizable initiative.
  • Co-ordinate the resources to ensure timely delivery of business/change requests.
  • Providing second level support for the applications and systems supported by the function.Developers, Infrastructure Technologists and Architects on a day to day basis to achieve the above.
  • The Business Analyst will work closely with the team’s Delivery Leader, Portfolio Architect, Developers, Infrastructure Technologists and Architects on a day to day basis to achieve the above

Experience Required:

  • Experience working in the Financial Sector, particularly within a broad Shared Services or Corporate Functions organisation.
  • Experience of engaging with the business directly and translating to an IT solution as appropriate.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of Project Management fundamentals.
  • Experience of waterfall and agile Software Development Life Cycles (e.g. SCRUM).
  • Experience of Test Management, Planning and Execution.
  • Experience of Software Change Management and Test Management tools.

Essential and Desirable Skills:

  • Very strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Familiar with Six Sigma process redesign methodology.
  • Skills in querying databases.

Educational Requirements:

  • University degree or diploma in related field or equivalent professional training and experience
  • Business Analyst Qualifications (e.g IIBA, ISEB)
