Job Description

My Northern Ireland based Client is looking for an IT Business Analyst to join their team.

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Excellent communication skills with stakeholders of all levels and with fellow project team members
  • Working effectively with developers and test teams to ensure requirements are interpreted correctly
  • Facilitating requirements gathering workshops and managing follow-up activities
  • Gathering, analysing and documenting solution requirements using Business Analysis techniques to capture both functional and technical requirements through user stories or traditional business requirements documenation
  • Working with client stakeholders to ensure that captured requirements are measurable, traceable, testable and have an associated business benefit
  • Using appropriate techniques and tools to capture ‘as is’ processes and working with the business and IT stakeholders to define and document ‘to be’ processes
  • Be able to respond effectively in a dynamic project environment working to tight and sometimes challenging deadlines.
  • Utilising efficient and effective processes and standards in order to continuously improve quality
  • Excellent attention to detail and document creation skills
  • Providing support during development and test execution
  • Managing change control related tasks, for example analysis of new defects or requests from the client and assessing whether they are in or out of scope of the agreed remit of the project
  • Operating in alignment with the companies PMO methodology and standards
  • On occasion there may be a need for this role to run small projects using the PMO methodology, with support from the PMO.

 

Experience:

 

  • Hands-on experience of the Software Development Lifecycle  either within analysis, dev or test and previous experience of the responsibilities outlined above
  • You must possess a good quantitative/technology/computer science degree from a recognised 3rd level institute, or have equivalent experience
  • Must have prior experience of working within an Agile methodology
  • Proven track record (min 3 yrs) in Business Analysis, across a variety of projects, that involved all of the above accountabilities, knowledge and skills.
  • Experience capturing and documenting requirements and user stories, business rules, process requirements, UML modelling and/or storyboards
  • Excellent communication skills with client stakeholders of all levels
  • Experience using appropriate tools for business process modelling and requirements management/traceability.
  • Solution Fit/Gap analysis
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proactive “can do” attitude with excellent interpersonal skills, making naturally good first impressions
  • Have a strong focus on delivery (scope, deadlines, budget, quality)
  • Ability to contribute to the creation of an environment that motivates individuals to work collaboratively as a team
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with client stakeholders of all levels
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with both technical and non-technical members of the team
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Excellent time management, organising and planning skills with a keen attention to detail
