Job Description

My Dublin based client is looking for a motivated IT Applications Manager to lead their IT Applications team as they take on new and exciting challenges.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining the availability and support of corporate applications
  • Plan and manage the programme of work for the Corporate Application teams
  • Work alongside Business Change teams to ensure that the needs of the company’s mission-critical applications are met
  • Manage relationships with third party providers of IT solutions including oversight and management of contracts and service level agreements, and lead the management of major incidents, managing key stakeholders and contribute to crisis management planning and delivery
  • Contribute to the development and evolution of the IT strategy, including Application, Digital and Data strategies and drive Corporate Application governance and key decisions, responsible for local execution of services within the programme for the company
  • Deliver 24/7 support of issues with MMS and other operational applications, providing subject matter expertise to resolve these (as part of a defined 24-hour rota) for customers
  • Ensure that appropriate business continuity, risk management programmes and incident reporting procedures are established to support the introduction of new tools, processes and technologies including the provision of support and resource capability to deliver projects

Experience Required

  • 8+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Previously led teams supporting business critical services in a 24/7 environment with a demonstrated track record of motivating and leading high-performance teams
  • Extensive experience of establishing and maintaining effective relationships with management and internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of working in a quick paced, dynamic environment

Essential and Desirable Skills

  • The ideal candidate will have effective communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to communicate to the business and technical audiences
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Proficient organisation and time management skills

Educational Requirements

  • Third Level Degree or equivalent in a relevant qualification
