My Dublin City Centre based client is recruiting for an Applications Manager to join the team. The role will be more on the management side rather than hands on. This role is on a permanent basis.
- Coordinate the development, promotion, implementation of Information Systems and services in close liaison with those responsible for management and strategy
- Prepare project and quality plans for any development process
- Identify processes, initiate and lead significant improvement programmes to help realise measurable business benefits
- Contribute to various project boards, quality assurance and reviews and give guidance on individual project proposals
- Evaluate project performance and recommend changes where necessary to ensure conformance to standards
- Management of application support personnel, define service levels and priorities for staff and monitor performance, provide advice, guidance and assistance as required
- Take responsibility for specification, agreement and application of appropriate standards within the applications area.
- Draft and maintain procedures for application support
- Manage application enhancements to improve business performance
- Ensure appropriate action is taken to investigate and resolve incidents and problems in systems and services ensuring all are fully documented within the appropriate reporting system
Essential
- The successful candidate must have at least 5 years’ experience in an IT environment with at least 3 years management experience
- An IT degree in computer science, computer information systems, or a related field
- Sound knowledge and experience of using structured analysis and development methodologies
- A proven project management background with experience in the delivery of projects in a GMP or similar regulated environment
- Strong business analysis skills
- Proven track record in the definition of user requirements both business and IT
Desirable
- Good knowledge and experience of using structured analysis and development methodologies
- Ability to liaise successfully between users and technical specialists
- Good knowledge of business and organisational analysis
- Good knowledge of security principles as the relate to application development and management
- Experience utilising SQL, PL/SQL, .Net, Java and reporting tools such as Jasper and Crystal Reports
- Excellent personnel management skills
