Job Description

Our client is currently seeking an Internal Audit Manager to join their finance team based in Co. Wicklow. This is a Permanent role with the prospect of going hybrid.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Financial Controller to develop the audit strategy, considering risks, business conditions, regulations, and resources.
  • Establish independent relationships with stakeholders and define audit scopes with department managers.
  • Lead audit processes to identify and assess risks and controls, reviewing documentation and findings according to audit methodology.
  • Write quality audit reports and lead discussions on findings with stakeholders, tracking and ensuring the closure of audit actions within timelines.
  • Promote efficiency and a culture of risk awareness, focusing audits on key commercial and operational drivers.
  • Assist in the annual risk assessment across all company operations, including outsourced functions, and rate risks according to audit methodology.
  • Conduct special audits and support the creation of a Group-wide internal audit function, working with Compliance and Risk to enhance internal control awareness.
  • Manage the internal audit team, recruiting and training members, and undertake additional tasks as needed.

Experience Required

  • Competent in risk-based auditing with a minimum of 5 years in financial services.
  • Strong understanding of auditing standards and regulations in Ireland, Europe, and the UK.
  • Highly motivated, able to work independently or collaboratively in dynamic environments with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience managing relationships with stakeholders and regulators.
  • Desirable experience in data analytics and leading audit or risk management teams.
  • Knowledgeable about governance, risk management and control.
  • Possesses a blend of technical skills, judgement, and commercial insight.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and oral.

Educational Requirements

  • Holds relevant qualifications (ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIA, IIA) or a master’s in accounting/finance/business administration.
