Job Description
My Dublin based client is currently recruiting for an Infrastructure Lead to join the team. The successful candidate will come from a strong VMware and Cisco background.
Overview / Responsibilities
- Continuously improve the operational systems, processes, policies and reporting for all IT infrastructure and applications
- Develop and deliver management reports on IT resource management, IT risk management and IT value-add initiatives where appropriate.
- Be the key on-site (and regional) resolver group for support where necessary and acting as the escalation link between Service Desk and Users
- Develop and deliver management reports on IT resource management, IT risk management and IT value-add initiatives where appropriate.
- Be the key on-site support for H/W and S/W rollouts
- Coordinate regional team activities with Group IT Operations leader
- Continuously improve the operational systems, processes, policies and reporting for all IT infrastructure
- Measure, monitor and report to businesses on IT Asset (SW/HW) consumption
- Define delivery and operating principles for Local IT infrastructure and services
- Adhere to IT design principles and standards as defined by Global Infrastructure & Design Services
- Experience in implementation and administration of storage platform technologies (i.e SAN)
- Experience with backup and recovery technologies administration (Veeam, Falconstor etc.)
- Experience in database administration (SQL, Oracle etc.)
- Experience in administration of Data Centre’s
- Experience with standard IT governance, Quality and Service Delivery Frameworks (ITIL, Cobit, ISO)
- Knowledge and experience of Computer Systems Validation and Infrastructure Qualification
- Experience in networking technologies such as Cisco
- Ability to build strong relationships with the business stakeholders, including senior managers and 3rdparty suppliers
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and problems and follow through to completion
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure design and operations
- End user support (e.g. desktop applications, video conferencing, etc.)
- Incident resolution as escalated from Service Desk
- Application support and maintenance
- Hardware ordering, build, deployment and lifecycle management
- Software deployments and licence management to clients and servers
- Print management
- Telephony support
- Site access control and IT Facilities Management
- Deployment of projects
- Security management
- Leadership and People management across IT operations team
- Strong experience in virtualisation technologies such as VMWare
- Strong experience in server infrastructure administration
- Experience in implementing, managing and maintaining security technologies (firewalls, WSUS etc.)
