Job Description

My Dublin based client currently requires an experienced Infrastructure Architect to join their team in a permanent role.

Job Responsibilities

Infrastructure Architect will be responsible for the design, implementation and governance of all infrastructure platforms to support the business; accountable for architecting and designing infrastructure solutions involving compute, storage, and networking components including considerations such as cloud, cyber security, resilience and disaster recovery.

  1. Responsibility for the Infrastructure and Technical Architecture design across all platforms and systems
  2. Providing expertise across multiple disciplines including AD, Hosting, Network, Telco, Storage, Security, and Support
  3. Developing Infrastructure and Technical Architecture principles and standards
  4. Interacting with business/functional partners, and 3rd party vendors, to define infrastructure requirements in line with functional, technical, security, and support considerations
  5. Accountable for key architectural decisions based on defined principles and standards
  6. Understanding capabilities and tools in the marketplace that could fulfil business goals and provide strategic benefits in a cost-effective manner
  7. Work with technical and business teams to evaluate new and emerging technologies, vendors and business models.
  8. Conducting gap analysis of current to target state technical architecture; definition of the roadmap and plans to achieve target state
  9. Conduct peer reviews of Concepts carried out by other members of the Architecture Team.
  10. Govern Projects in Delivery to ensure adherence to Original Design.
  11. Provide Leadership in Infrastructure and Technical Architecture and benchmark externally to establish best practise.

 

Experience Required

  1. Deliver required scope to meet business objectives and controls
  2. Meet all regulatory requirements for controls and audit purposes
  3. Systems implemention to highest industry standards
  4. Appropriate quality process and measures in place
  5. Risk management
  6. Agreement of dependencies / shared architecture and associated accountabilities within organisation
  7. Development and Maintenance of company Infrastructure and Technical Architecture
  8. Develop a repository containing standards, reusable components, modelling artefacts, relationships, dependencies which is available for reuse across projects.
  9. Input into IT Strategy and portfolio planning
  10. Clear evidence of all technical and infrastructure architecture decisions documented outlining the associated rationale, with the supporting collateral available for subsequent audit/review.
  11.  Clear evidence of alignment with company values.
  12. Experience with multi-geography, multi-tier service design and management
  13. Experience of delivering to strict target dates and/or service levels.

Essential and Desirable Skills

  1. Minimum 5 years working in an IT environment preferably in an Infrastructure Architecture or Infrastructure Project Delivery role.
  2. Excellent understanding of Infrastructure Architecture and ability to design secure, highly resilient solutions based on technology standards, guidelines and frameworks
  3. SME with broad technical knowledge, in architecting and designing infrastructure solutions involving compute, storage, and networking components including considerations
    such as cloud, cyber security, resilience and disaster recovery
  4. Understanding of latest cloud computing and data technologies, business drivers, emerging computing trends, and deployment options.
  5. Enthusiastic professional and confident team player with a strong customersuccess focus, who can present solutions effectively.
  6. Demonstrated organisational skills, decision making skills and attention to detail
  7. A proven track record in stakeholder management at all levels in the organisation including executive and senior staff, within both IT and the business, project delivery and support staff, 3rd party vendors and controller functions within the organisation.
  8. Understanding of latest cloud computing and data technologies, business drivers, emerging computing trends, and deployment options.

  • Relevant degree in associated discipline
