Information Security Officer

My Dublin based client is recruiting for an Information Security Officer / Specialist this is a brand new position to the business. This is perm role and will be remote working initially. The candidate will report directly in the Head of IT and will work very closely with all areas of the IT Department to deliver IT Security services with the organization. The ISO will also consult and advise key stakeholders on matters of information security & Data Protection across the entire organisation. The ISO will ensure that the business is protected from security threats and ensures compliance in accordance with the relevant data protection legislation and in parallel with the ISO will oversee the maintenance and development of the corporate network security standards and manage and maintain our 3^rd party risk management practises.

Job Responsibilities

• You will establish, manage & develop all aspects of IT security to ensure business continuity, reduce risk & obtain/retain compliance accreditations
• You will define, measure & meet key operational metrics
• Establish strategic direction for information security
• You will define, implement, & govern policies & practices in terms of all aspects of information security
• Partner with & influence stakeholders to promote simplification, standardization & innovation in security & networking
• You will maintain logs, documentation, & reports of activity
• Investigation of business needs & potential solutions for improvements in all aspect of IT Security
• Identification & selection of network monitoring & security application solutions
• Oversee & identify IT security risk and identify & implement mitigating solutions

Experience Required

• A min of 5+ years demonstrable experience implementing & managing corporate information security practices, with deep understanding & practical application of ISO frameworks (e.g. ISO27001)
• Certified to CISM and CCNA standards would be advantageous
• Experience with managing a corporate network environment is desirable

Essential and Desirable Skills

Educational Requirements

• 3^rd level qualification in an IT, Computer Science or Engineering discipline
• Certified to CISM and CCNA standards would be advantageous
