My Dublin City Centre client is seeking an experienced Head of IT to join their organisation.

Head of IT

My Dublin City Centre based client is looking to speak with suitably qualified candidates for their newly formed Head of IT function.  This candidate will be responsible for Infrastructure, Business Systems, PMO, and Data Centre operations.  The candidate will need a blend of strong people management experience, key stakeholder management experience, and will be coming from a hands-on IT background.  The responsibilities within the role work across the areas of Strategy, Governance, People Management, and Operations Management.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day to day operations of the IT functions. Prioritise work across IT these functions in line with SLAs and business priorities
  • Manage technology cost through rigorous business case development, benefits realisation, and the measurement of outcomes
  • Manage, monitor and review the relationships with service providers and ensure that high levels of service are received and maintained
  • Provide effective support desk services aligned to ITIL standards
  • Ensure best in class incident management procedures are in place to ensure system outages or events have minimal impact on business operations
  • Manage IT risk and contribute to the development and enhancement of my client’s policies and procedures manual
  • Promote a quality and risk management culture in information systems delivery through the development of appropriate quality and risk strategies and frameworks
  • Manage IT security – implement and maintain information security requirements in alignment with my client’s requirements
  • Support Senior Management Team in achieving operational and strategic objectives
  • Support SMT in the development and implementation of my client’s IT strategy
  • Proactively identify and propose ways to leverage technology to improve overall operational efficiency and productivity
  • Ensure staff are developed to support them to reach their potential.
  • Ensure the Performance Management framework is used for the benefit of staff members
  • Motivate and lead the assigned teams
  • Promote effective teamwork and collaboration

Required:

  • A relevant 3rd level qualification
  • 5 years previous experience in a similar position
  • Excellent influencing skills with the ability to develop IT solutions based on business needs
  • A proven ability to innovate and generate ideas
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • A proven track record in process analysis, design and IT implementation
  • Previous experience in leading and managing teams
