Head of IT Applications / Operations

My Dublin City Centre based client is currently recruiting for a Head of IT Operations to join the team on a permanent basis. This role will be working off a hybrid model. The Head of IT Operations will oversee all the necessary systems to support the daily operations of the organisation. The Head of IT Operations should come from a strong IT background.

Job Responsibilities

IT Strategy

• In partnership with the CIO & the Global Technology team you will design a revised, a modernised strategic direction for IT, ensuring full alignment with the broader strategic objectives of the business.
• You will lead the implementation of the IT strategy through the IT team and business in accordance with any relevant obligations under the financial services legislation and any applicable codes of conduct.

IT Operations:

• You will lead the delivery of IT Operations across the application and business process landscape.
• You will lead the Application Support function for Level 1 & 2operational support
• You will lead the identification, prioritisation, & implementation of support tickets to meet business and client services levels and the team will manage and support from creation to closure
• You will manage the interface between Business Applications, IT Stakeholders, Infrastructure teams and business units to ensure daily operations run smoothly.
• You will be responsible for the Change Control Board to ensure all changes to production services meet release standards & protocols.
• You will develop & maintain excellent relationships with clients & internal and external suppliers and service providers to maintain cost-effective service levels.
• You will maintain a well designed and robust IT Infrastructure to support the business application needs.

IT Governance & Risk Management:

• You will ensure a robust IT governance framework, including policies & procedures & roles and responsibilities, to deliver our business strategies, effectively manage IT risks and safeguard the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information.
• You will develop, implement, and maintain the IT risk management framework (including business continuity and disaster recovery programs, IT security and operational risk)
• Oversee outsourcing relationships and manage vendor relationships with affiliated and third-party IT service providers and suppliers

Leadership & Team Development:

• Leading and managing the individual performance and personal development of direct reports through mentoring and goal setting, creating a high-performance culture, and ensuring all policies & processes are followed.

Innovation and Continual Improvement:

• A You will establish, monitor, and maintain systems security policies and processes which ensure full regulatory compliance and cutting-edge cyber security.
• You will monitor external technological developments and drive innovation across the business ensuring continuous improvement, and maintaining focus & momentum
• A You will deliver management information for the business to enable the measurement, monitoring and improvement of performance

Projects

• You will assume overall responsibility for ensuring the IT Operations projects are delivered to a very high standard.

Experience Required

• Significant experience in an IT leadership/senior management role and a strong track record of running IT Operations, including reporting to senior stakeholders
• Excellent knowledge of IT Application landscape and infrastructure
• Excellent knowledge and expertise in running IT Operations across critical applications, core Infrastructure including End User computing and help desk services.
• Background in designing/developing ITIL based service delivery model.
• Background in designing/developing IT systems and planning IT implementation
• Knowledge/experience of working within a regulated and/or banking industry
• A IT Project Management Experience (Nice to have)

Technical Competencies

• Good knowledge of modern application landscape based on Microsoft Technologies.
• Good Technical Project Management skills

Essential and Desirable Skills

• Knowledge/experience of working within a regulated and/or banking industry
• A IT Project Management Experience (Nice to have)

Educational Requirements

• BSc/BA in computer science, engineering, or relevant field; MSc/MA will be preferred
• ITIL
• PMP / Prince 2 / Agile
