Job Description

A top client is recruiting for a Head of Development to join their existing team.


We are looking for an ambitious and experienced engineering manager to join us and lead our engineers, grow our team and inspire them to contribute the highest quality work.

The team is comprised of some highly experienced engineers with deep domain knowledge and the focus of this role is on product advancement and strategic contribution into the advancement of the company as a whole.

We are a LEAN and agile organisation and value agility without dogma. We will want you to mentor and coach the team and the organisation to continually adapt and to improve our efforts and encourage craftsmanship within the engineering team. Thought leadership in the flexible application of agile principles is a plus.

  • You’re clear and persuasive in writing and in person

  • You know when to let a team work through problems and when to jump in to help
  • You’re technical enough to ask engineers good questions about architecture and product decisions
  • You have at least a couple of years of engineering management experience


  • Managing a growing team of 10+ engineers
  • Delivering innovative software product enhancements to an established customer base efficiently and consistently
  • Contributing to the company wide strategy and having a voice at the leadership table
  • Ability to represent the company with customers, investors, industry experts and other stakeholders
  • Active team management, through reviews, career development planning, recruitment of new team members
  • Working closely with Product Management to agree on product innovation and roadmap
  • Collaborating with the Product Manager, Leadership Team & CEO
  • Managing releases
  • Scaling a rapidly growing business whilst maintaining a high level of uptime
  • Maintenance of the existing product suite
