Group Finance Accountant

My Dublin based Financial Services client is looking for a Group Finance Accountant to join their team in a contract position.

Business Unit Description: GM Finance comprises a number of areas, one being the Commercial Partnering team. The CP team has a business partnering role which produces high quality monthly and ad hoc information to GM Management, Corporate & Markets division and Group Finance. The team is also responsible for the production of GM`s annual budget, quarterly forecasts and strategic plans for both income and costs.

Purpose of the Role: The successful candidate will be responsible for production of the Monthly Finance Performance Report and the Quarterly Business Review and aid in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.

Key Tasks:

1. Prepare various monthly management information packs including commentary explaining key movements and present them for review within GM Finance.
2. Ownership and preparation of monthly Net Interest Income/Other Income analysis file which is key to understanding the breakdown of income types.
3. Posting various month end cost journals in SAP. Prepare a cost review pack detailing moves in the month and accruals/prepayment balances.
4. Aid in the preparation of period budget/forecasting exercises through preparation of templates for the business and updating of core budgeting files.

Essential Skills/Experience:

1. Demonstrate strong communication, presentation and inter-personal skills and the proven ability to build strong relationships.
2. Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills
3. Strong numeric skills and the ability to analyse and interpret financial information.
4. High level of computer literacy particularly with regard to Excel, Powerpoint and SAP.

Desirable Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

1. Prior experience of working in a treasury function.
2. Full or part qualified accountant.
