Job Description

Global IT Operations Manager required for top Global Company. Opportunity to work Remotely.

This leadership role is accountable for the totality of IT infrastructure and operations (I&O) in the CE organization – across Europe, Japan and the US. This role is responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of all third-party and internally managed IT infrastructure and applications used to support all business process across the organization. This individual will have solid technical infrastructure experience, strong project management acumen, excellent vendor management skills. The role is also responsible for all operational support processes to ensure high customer service and system uptime is achieved. Once core operations is stable this role will be involved in new business models and will be expected to provide guidance on the latest technologies available to grow new revenue channels.

A second important part of this role is to perform line management for the Operations Team members located primarily in France and Germany.

The third part of this role is to be the Business Relationship Manager for the Senior Management team. This role will form part of the Global BRM team, collecting business needs, consolidating them and ensuring good communication lines between the IT delivery teams and the key business resources.

Roles & Responsibilities

Infrastructure and Operations Strategy

• Sets the mission and vision of the IT operations organization to foster a business-oriented culture and mindset

• Leads the development of a standard IT Operations model delivering consistent, high performing services to each region at a cost-effective price.

• Directs the development of I&O sourcing strategy and provides executive oversight for strategic vendor and partner relationship management

• Develops the Infrastructure and Operations strategy and roadmap and ensures its integration with the overall IT and enterprise strategic plans.

• Develops and controls the annual operating and capital expenditure budget for I&O to ensure it is consistent with overall strategic objectives of IT and the enterprise and is within plan

• Leads the data center/hosting strategy ensuring reliable, scalable, secure and cost-effective options are made available to the business and application teams.

Delivery of IT Operations

• Leads the teams responsible for the day to day management of business systems across both applications and infrastructure. Applications include ERP (Oracle and SAGE), CRM (Aurea), Power BI, be-spoke applications.

• Build training plans and lead the deployment of end-user technologies and software that will streamline day to day activities for the business users, using better all the software available under the O365 suite.

• Support HQ Security and Audit teams to ensure the CE systems and processes support the overall standards • Manage operation team providing day to day support, career guidance and mentoring and line management for 15-20 people


• Leads the project activities that require infrastructure skills. These include but are not limited to – Global Network Setup, Improved Global Collaboration, Consolidating Data Centres, Moving to

• Review all projects (application and infrastructure) and provide Operational Readiness sign-off prior to go-live

Business Relationship Management

• Acts as a trusted advisor and builds and maintains relationships with other IT leaders and business executives to develop a clear understanding of business needs; ensures cost-effective delivery of IT services to meet those needs and is able to respond with agility to changing business priorities.

Education & Qualification

• Bachelor’s in Engineering, Computer Science, and/or business (MBA) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Ability to work with cross-functional & cross geographical teams and staff at all management levels

• Problem solving/analytical skills, tools and techniques

• IT contracts and their likely cost implications

• Engagement with procurement and legal contract advisors for additional information

• Development and implementation of processes and policies


• 15+ years of Infrastructure and Operations experience, minimum 5 in a lead or management role

• Previous experience in cross-country or global organization

• A self-starter capable of using their initiative and getting results

• Business acumen and developing relationship at all levels in the business is a must

• Managing a team of at least 10 members in infrastructure, application support

• 5 years of demonstrated leadership experience building cross-organizational consensus with exposure to technology providers and/or business clients.
