Job Description

My Dublin based client is looking for a General Manager, they will be responsible for owning and managing all operational aspects of the business in Dublin and abroad.

The role will include reporting to the Group General Manager on an on-going basis, the successful candidate will be responsible for owning and managing all operational aspects of the business in Dublin and abroad. You will be responsible for planning and leading the design, development and quality assurance processes for the whole Technology product and services portfolio to meet the company objectives. Key Responsibilities

  • Define product roadmaps, schedules and release scope and ensure that features developed are delivered on time and meet business and customer requirements
  • Deliver best-in-class technical solutions to support the business strategy and needs
  • Own the end-to-end operational performance of the Technology business
  • Maintain ownership of department budgets and relevant KPIs
  • Lead and mentor the Product Development teams and can also take the lead on architectural design and decisions
  • Manage cross-country deliveries and multiple projects simultaneously
  • Own the Software Development lifecycle and Product Development processes
  • Manage and communicate with senior stakeholders to ensure timely and needs-based delivery and expectations
  • Manage all services and support deliverables and processes
  • Work closely with the Chief Commercial Officer for Technology on strategic and tactical planning
  • Take full responsibility for services and support delivery timelines and overall quality
  • Recruit and retain top talent to build a strong team in a competitive environment
  • Ensure compliance with quality management standards across the Technology group

Experience Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant hands-on work experience in software engineering
  • An additional 2+ years proven track record in recruiting and managing technical teams (including performance management)
  • Solid track record demonstrating technical capacity (technical vision, architecture, etc.)
  • B.Sc. in Computer science or equivalent degree supported with relevant work experience
  • Proven ability to adhere to financial budgets, allocated resources and timelines
  • Extensive experience in Agile or Scrum development methodology
  • Communication proficiency at senior level
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects
  • Proven track record of contributing at strategic and operational level
