Job Description

We are actively seeking a FP & A Manager to join our client’s team in Galway City. This permanent role comes with the option of hybrid working.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with various departmental teams to translate strategic goals into practical financial plans and projections, incorporating market shifts and new ventures. This involves joint efforts to assess the financial implications of changing business demands.
  • Develop and enhance financial reporting systems, ensuring accuracy, promptness, and compliance with accounting standards, alongside supporting the FP&A closing process through detailed variance analysis.
  • If applicable, oversee the FP&A team, prioritising their professional development to build a proficient team adept at handling financial complexities.
  • Perform comprehensive variance analyses to uncover and explain deviations from expected financial results, providing thorough insights into budgetary performance.
  • Keep updated with FP&A industry trends and apply this insight to refine procedures, bolster strategic decisions, and maintain a competitive stance.
  • Oversee the annual operating plan and budget process, covering revenue forecasts, spending plans, and staffing budgets, while streamlining the overall budgeting process for strategic consistency.
  • Evaluate financing options from financial institutions to outline and select strategies that best fit the organisation’s goals and fiscal well-being.
  • Support the CFO in crafting extensive business plans and budgets, using detailed financial forecasts to inform decisions on financial performance, liquidity, and investments.
  • Present financial reports and insights to senior management, providing clear, actionable information on financial outcomes, investment prospects, and liquidity predictions.

Experience Required

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) with experience in a healthcare company or another dynamic setting is preferred.
  • Essential financial modelling skills and over 5 years in FP&A, highlighting a strong background in budgeting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related area is required; an MBA adds value.
  • Proficient in simplifying complex financial data for actionable insights, with excellent communication skills to effectively share financial information with a broad audience.
  • Must have a strong work ethic and professional demeanour, especially in customer interactions, and be comfortable engaging with senior executives in a project-based environment.
  • Advanced skills in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, with a proven ability to work well in a cross-functional team setting.
