Job Description

My client is actively recruiting a Finance Business Analyst to join their company on an initial 3-6 month contract.

Job Responsibilities

  • Working within the Finance workstream, the successful candidate will be responsible in the review, validation and analysis of data to ensure systems readiness of the new systems from a Finance perspective.  This will include:
    • Data Migration Reconciliation – ensuring that migrated data is correctly and accurately loaded and processed within the new systems, mapped correctly to the Financial and Reporting suites of the systems. Identification, analysis and reconciliation of any variance that may exist.
    • Shadow Run – validating that E2E integration of systems are correctly processed and mapped to the Financial and Reporting suites of the systems. This will include the specific finance systems and reporting functionality used in the day-to-day operations of the Finance department, as well as the downstream Finance impact of system transactional processing.
    • Model Office – ensuring the Systems readiness of the functionality in line with Operating Procedures and controls. The update of procedures or potentially systems gaps where anomalies are identified.
  • Assistance to the team in the production, validation, and analysis of data to fulfil the system readiness requirements of the Finance elements of the new Systems.
  • Using financial controls to validate operational readiness of the systems.
  • Validation of standard reports that align with the system data.
  • Report and document defects per the defect reporting and resolution process.
  • Update of operational procedures documents for all accounting, system, and reporting processes under review as part of the system readiness.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on system & reporting queries and the presentation of the validation approach and associated reconciliation/validation outputs.
  • Working closely with internal teams to identify process gaps, develop, implement and maintain controls.

Experience Required

  • Experience in testing Finance & Accounting systems including data migrations.
  • Experience with data analysis and validation.
  • Systems implementation experience.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (incl Excel & Access).
  • Experience with SQL, PowerBI & Spira desirable.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and accounting policies would be a distinct advantage.
  • PQE Experience in Audit or Financial Reporting would be a distinct advantage

  • Ability to analyse data and to document and communicate results.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities.
