My Galway based client is recruiting for an Engineering Manager for a client of mine in Galway. This is a perm role. The Engineering Manager will report into the Operations Director and will be responsible for the Engineering and Technical functions in the company and will also head up the maintenance function and will be required to demonstrate capability across a board scope of activities.

Job Responsibilities

  • You will promote the Safety & Quality culture by driving proactive programs to positively influence the Technical & Operational groups
  • You will roll out programs aimed at developing & coaching the technical staff.
  • Gain knowledge of the existing process & technologies to understand what improvement would be needed to support Operations.
  • Drive a Continuous Improvement culture buy implementing Lean & Six Sigma tools and principles.
  • You will develop a sitewide Engineering & Technical strategy in line with the plant strategy to support automation & growth.
  • You will play an active role in identification & achievement of cost reductions on an on-going basis
  • You will develop & maintain KPIs for your department with a view to meeting or exceeding annual objectives
  • Interact with global team with a view to sharing & obtaining knowledge that can be used to drive improvements in Efficiency, Quality and Innovation.

Experience Required

  • Passionate about lean implementation with a solid track record of success in same.
  • Strong engineering & technical expertise is a required.
  • Highly curious about innovative products & processes with a history of bringing these into an organisation
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams
  • Good communicator
  • Ability to create & execute improvement & innovation plans efficiently
  • Advantageous to have collaborated with government agencies on project implementation

Essential and Desirable Skills

5 years experience in a similar role.

Educational Requirements

3rd level qualification in relevant discipline

From the initial discussion about my role through, the vetting, onboarding and right through to the invoicing and payment process the experience with Eolas has been first rate. Luke helped me highlight the items on the CV that the client was looking for and Stephen gave me solid advice about how to invoice in Euros from a UK company. Stephen advised me to open a euro account. Advice which I initially ignored...at my cost...the Royal Bank of Scotland creamed 4.6% of my first invoice!
