Job Description

Our Financial Services Client is looking for a DOC1 Developer for a 6 month daily rate contract based in Dublin City Centre.

The Job

Reporting to the Customer Communications Manager, the successful candidate will participate in the development and support of DOC1 applications in the Customer Communications Development Team. The role is to:

  • Agree requirements with stakeholders and analyse, design, build, test, document and implement the changes required to the DOC1 system within agreed deadlines and to the required standard in order to meet the functional requirements specified by the business.
  • Work closely with other colleagues within the team, Developers and Actuaries to ensure requirements are testable and verifiable to ensure requirements traceability and delivery of expected functionality.

The Person

We are looking for contractors who have proven experience developing DOC1 applications. Candidates will be considered for this vacancy in the light of their qualities, qualifications and experience.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an experienced developer/analyst who can act on own initiative, is a self-starter with a positive outlook and driven to improve skills.
  • Have strong knowledge / experience of the following:
    • DOC1 Series 4
    • DOC1 Series 6
  • Experience in the following would also be beneficial:
    • PCE
    • JCL
  • Have strong planning skills and organising of own work and can deliver formal plans and accurate estimates for own work with set targets.
  • Be able to work well with colleagues and clients to develop and agree requirements and apply various analysis techniques to the information gathering process.
  • Be able to specify the logical information flows, processes, data objects and dialogues for a system that will meet the requirements.
  • Have strong analysis and problem solving (Critical Thinking) skills.
  • Have proven experience of designing, constructing, modifying, testing and documenting DOC1 changes to deliver a quality product.
  • Have skills to test all work to ensure no problems are encountered after go-live.
  • Have an awareness of the need for and means of achieving quality in all tasks undertaken.
  • Document all work to the required standard.
  • Work well in a team and carry out all required reporting procedures.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have a deep understanding of the Life Assurance industry and its products.
