Job Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Digital Project Manager
• The Digital Scrum Master is responsible for leading functional agile squads to deliver priority digital outcomes.  These initiatives are high priority change initiatives for the Group.  The successful candidate will lead the squads with product owners through the iterative agile delivery lifecycle, to meet defined business and technical objectives within agreed time, cost and quality standards.
• Work collaboratively with the Digital Program Manager, Product Owner and squad members to ensure an agreed backlog of requirements is available for the development team.
• Work closely with cross functional teams to ensure requirements are designed, built and delivered in a fast paced business environment.
• Coach team in agile best practices and strategies to improve squads performance against agreed KPIs.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key business stakeholders.
• Facilitate scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand ups, sprint retrospectives and team-based release planning.
• Ensure all artefacts are maintained and meet standards.
• Facilitate estimation of delivery effort to drive squad prioritisation planning.
• Leverage project management experience to ensure planning, prioritisation and delivery standards are maintained.
• Mentor and coach all team members in Agile (Scrum/Kanban), practices, rules and our tooling (Confluence, Jira and Clarity).
• Own issues and remove impediments to the squads’ progress and escalate issues in a timely manner for resolution.

Experience Required

• Experience working on delivering technical outcomes within financial services
• Proven ability to lead cross functional squads of technical and business resources
• Advanced knowledge of JIRA and Confluence
• At least 5 years’ experience working as a scrum master
• At least 5 years experience working as a project manager within a regulated industry
• Ability to handle multiple squads simultaneously
• Good communication skills

Educational Requirements

• Scrum Master certification, and/or
• Formal Project/ Programme Management Qualification ( e.g. PMP)
