DevOps Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Setting up and automating Linux servers.
• Server virtualisation, implementation and server hosting architecture design.
• Network configuration and optimisation.
• Continuous integration and continuous delivery.
• The successful candidate will play a key role in my clients wireless application development, along with other innovative products development.

Experience Required

• 3+ years’ experience in network engineering.
• At least 2 years’ experience using AWS technologies.

Essential and Desirable Skills

• Experience working on Linux OS, in particular Ubuntu and Yocto.
• Experience with scripting in BASH, Shell, Perl, and/ or coding in Python or similar programming languages. Strong scripting experience highly desired.
• Prior use of Ansible, Jenkins, CI & CD.
• Exposure to Nginx configuration for web services.
• Experience with server virtualisation software, (VMWare and KVM).
• Experience with installation, use and maintenance of firewalls, load balancers and switches.
• Solid knowledge of all aspects of the networking stack
• Good knowledge in network security; including architecture and configuration of routers, firewalls and a wide range of security products.
• Experience with wireless router/access point configuration and troubleshooting.
• Very good working knowledge of the wireless 802.11 standard.
• Experience with VLAN setup and familiarity with SSH/VPN.
• Experience performing network packet inspection, traffic analysis, performance characterisation (Wireshark, TCPdump, etc.)
• Ability to approach problems with a sense of ownership, enthusiasm, and innovation.
• Top communications skills to clearly explain complex technical issues.
• Knowledge of Docker and Docker Compose is a plus.

Educational Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
