Desktop Engineer

My Dublin based client is currently recruiting for a new desktop engineer to join the team on a permanent basis. There will be a blend of working remotely and office based. Role Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows desktops, laptops, and peripherals, including printers and scanners
• Perform hardware and software upgrades, patches and maintenance tasks
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, perform diagnostics and resolve problems
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policies and Network settings
• Provide support for various desktop applications including Microsoft Office, Adobe, and antivirus software
• Install and maintain desktop security software, ensuring all systems are up to date
• Set up and configure new systems for employees, including user accounts and email
• Provide end-user training and support
• Collaborate with IT team members to ensure system integrity and functionality
• Maintain accurate documentation of hardware and software inventory

Essential/ Desirable Skills

• 3+ years of experience in desktop support or related field
• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Active Directory and Group Policies
• Experience with desktop hardware, peripherals, and software
• Proficiency with desktop security and antivirus software
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
• Experience with remote desktop support tools and ticketing systems
• Knowledge of Mac OS and Linux is a plus

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
