My Westmeath based client is currently recruiting for a Deputy Logistics Manager to join the team on a permanent basis. The Deputy Logistics Manager will work within different teams and will be responsible for the management of employees in the area. The Deputy Logistics Manager will maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of warehouse operations, ensuring that logistical components function smoothly and align with the broader objectives of the organization.

Job Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Leading teams in various departments (Goods In, Selections, or Transport) to ensure efficient handling of stock from receipt to dispatch.
  • Performance Management: Creating a motivating work environment focused on performance. This involves setting performance goals and actively engaging with staff to meet these standards.
  • Operational Involvement: Actively participating in day-to-day operations, providing hands-on leadership to demonstrate commitment and knowledge of the processes.
  • KPI Management: Developing and monitoring key performance indicators to track and improve operational efficiencies.
  • IT System Management: Using multiple IT systems integral to logistics operations, ensuring processes are efficient and compliant with company standards.
  • Quality Control: Conducting regular checks to maintain product quality, ensuring adherence to rotation and storage guidelines.
  • Training Coordination: Organizing and overseeing on-the-job training to ensure staff development and proactive work habits.
  • Schedule Management: Handling the planning of work schedules and managing annual leave to ensure continuous operations.
