My Dublin based client is looking for a Data Scientist to join their Innovation and Consumer team.

Data Scientist, IC Department

Reporting to: Head of Insight & Analytics

Roles & Responsibilities:

My Dublin based client is looking for a Data Scientist to join their Innovation and Consumer team. This is a key role in their Analytics Centre of Excellence whereby the data scientist will deliver value for the business through actionable insight, key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop a firm understanding of business operations and the associated data flows;
  • Working with clients online teams to aid and lead decision making through advanced and actionable analytics;
  • Work closely with the Platform & Engineering team to ensure data is structured appropriately, of good quality, accessible and continuously improving Broaden the company’s data sources with open source and market data, working  with IT to build systems to support this process;
  • Apply modern analytics skills and methodologies including machine learning, advanced analytics, geospatial analytics, correlation and driver analysis etc;
  • Extracting, cleansing, blending and processing data used for analysis;
  • Communicate the findings simply through effective storytelling;
  • Educating the business on the value of data and the associated tools and techniques used to monetize the data e. develop data literacy;
  • Simplify and automate existing process and reporting;
  • Ensuring appropriate best practice governance systems and internal controls are implemented maintained and reported on in line with GDPR requirements; and
  • Support on ad-hoc analysis and cross functional projects as required.

Education, Skills & Experience:

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant Data/ Analytics
  • Third level qualification in Statistics, Computer Science, Analytics (or equivalent qualification)
  • PowerPoint and advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to translate the data and analytics to “story tell” the findings cross functionally
  • Strong SQL and database capabilities along with the ability to work with analytical and BI tools
  • The ideal candidate for this team should be positive, be a self-starter with the
  • ability to operate in a dynamic environment, demonstrate good attention to detail and demonstrate good judgment through logical decision making
