Data Governance Lead

Role Purpose:

• The Data Governance Lead has overall day to day responsibility for Data Governance .
• Drawing on group policies and standards, this individual is responsible for the development and implementation of the company’s Data Governance Strategy and to manage a small Data Governance team.

Role profile:

1. Review and enhance current data governance arrangements, including structures, policies and data catalogues to ensure the organisation is well positioned to meet its on-going objectives in data management.
2. Define data governance strategy to include:-

• Policies & Procedures
• Data catalogue
• Staff Training and Awareness

3. Advise and provide guidance to the business on the implementation of record retention schedules, archiving and purging policies and general data protection advice.
4. Management of 3rd party data governance audits and reviews
5. Acting as Data Protection Officer and managing data protection related queries and complaints.
6. Manage a small team of Analysts who will assist in managing data policies and procedures,and carrying out compliance audits and reviews.
7. Develop and maintain strong business relationships with each business area.
8. With job rotation, responsibilities may be extended to include other regulatory compliance areas and the successful candidate will need to skill-up to have a working knowledge of these areas.
