Job Description

My Financial services client is looking for a talented data analyst to join their actuarial team to help better utilise data and enhance operating processes within the company.

The Actuarial Function falls under the reference of the Chief Financial Officer and works closely with the underwriting, claims, sales and pricing departments.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and refresh appropriate datasets in MSSQL and SSAS tabular for use by the reserving actuaries
  • Expand and sustain a number of SSIS ETL packages
  • Further automation of existing processes within the business
  • Develop and maintain a variety of SSRS reports to ensure data quality
  • Oversee the development of a variety of Tableau dashboards on departmental data sets and generate insights from these output
  • Represent the actuarial department’s interest at a variety of data related committees

Experience Required

  • Strong SSIS experience with particular emphasis on developing ETL packages
  • Experience of developing, maintaining and running SSRS reports
  • Proven experience of all aspects of SSAS tabular models
  • Experience with Tableau desktop would be advantageous
  • Strong Excel experience
  • Previously worked with Azure cloud resources is desirable
  • Experience with large data sets, data manipulation, and data cleansing

Essential and Desirable Skills

  • Strong problem solving, analytical skills and decision-making ability
  • Proficient SQL skills

Educational Requirements

  • Relevant Third level degree or qualification
