Cyber Security Engineer

My Dublin-based client is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. This role offers a hybrid working model. You will play a key role in building and enhancing security solutions & processes across the business.

Job Responsibilities

• Build new security architecture from scratch as well as update and enhance existing systems in accordance with business needs and industry standards
• Ensure security requirements are met in accordance with the NIST cyber security framework
• Provide expert advice and recommendations on security controls, technologies, and solutions that support business goals
• Stay up to date with ongoing developments of the security landscape, including new risks and regulations
• Promote the importance of security principles and facilitate relevant training where required
• Communicate with stakeholders and attend departmental meetings, acting as an advisor on security matters in projects across the business
• Be proactive in anticipating and defending against information security risks, by identifying and implementing appropriate risk management processes

Experience Required

• 5+ years’ experience in Information Security / Cyber Security roles
• Experienced in relevant security tools, procedures, and regulations that are in line with industry standards
• Experienced in managing projects associated with information security & cyber security
• Experienced working in a cloud environment, especially Microsoft Azure
• Relevant certifications would be highly desirable (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CASP+)

Essential and Desirable Skills

• Strong knowledge of security principles and processes
• Process mapping and data analytics skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Project management skills

Educational Requirements

• Third level degree in IT or relevant industry qualifications
• Relevant certifications would be highly desirable (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CASP+)
