Job Description

I now have a great client in Dublin that is looking to hire a mid level Business Intelligence Analyst

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Business Analyst is primarily responsible for the data acquisition and presentation of business intelligence data within the organisation.

This is a key role in both the Finance Department and integrating with the Operations Departments (which Finance supports), which will involve working closely with all departments of the business and senior management to gain an understanding of the business, identify opportunities for improvements and efficiencies, provide data to support operations and facilitate effective decision-making, management and control.

 

Key Responsibilities:

In this mid-level role, you will be required to:

 

Plan, execute and lead and engage with key business stakeholders to understand and deliver on their requirements.

Implement a systematic approach to development of business intelligence requirements and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a small, highly focused team, juggling a handful of simultaneous projects

Gather, clarify and report on information requirements in partnership with business users

Ensure that required data is complete, accurate, organised and its meaning is clear to all users

Work with business users to develop enhanced data processes involving master data and reference data where necessary. Maintain strong working relationships with both technical and business colleagues

Ensure the information analysis is carried out in line with documented data standards

Develop standard operating procedures for all routine tasks

Understand how data is organised within database/file management systems and how to access/manage it appropriately.

Prepare analytics presentations for key stakeholders, highlighting the business impacts of analytical results

Create, optimize, and automate the scheduling of SQL stored procedures and routines

Development of key reports and dashboards

Building self-service application business intelligence dashboards for business end-users

Recommend process changes to ensure the integrity of the data.

 

 

Industry and Role Experience:

  • 4 to 5 years’ experience working in a database environment.
  • Finance Systems experience essential.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL in a Microsoft SSMS environment
  • Advanced MS Excel
  • Ability to design, present and automate reports using SSRS or Report Builder
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science or Science related discipline (related to ICT).

 

 

This role requires an in-depth understanding of underlying data and the varying relationships of that data across the infrastructure to support the business intelligence requirements and to support business users in order to translate requirements into reporting solutions.

 

This role also supports end users in the use of business intelligence tools.
