Job Description

Business Analyst required for a Fixed Term Contract with a top Financial Services Company in Dublin City Centre.

Provide Business Analysis expertise to selected projects for multiple stakeholders.

Job Purpose and Responsibilities:

  • This role requires a combination of detailed business knowledge, business analysis techniques and an understanding of the technical systems and processes required to run a Financial Services business
  • Experience in the successful delivery of IT projects or initiatives
  • Focus on delivery of excellent service to all stakeholders
  • Broad knowledge and experience in group life insurance, investment planning and wealth protection with specialised knowledge in one or more of these areas
  • Experience in customer service, investments accounting, software development or testing or other ancillary functions a definite advantage

Main Accountabilities:

  • Use skills and techniques in business analysis tasks to create clear and accurate requirements
  • Investigate/Analyse operational requirements and problems, seeking effective business solutions through improvements in information systems, data management, processes/procedures, organisation and equipment by using model business processes (modelling from “As Is” to “To Be”), information flows, etc.
  • Assist in defining and planning projects to develop/implement automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes, ensuring stakeholder buy-in, reviewing solutions, etc.
  • Proficient in the selection and application of information gathering methods, tools and techniques which are appropriate to the information required and the sources available (Workshops, Shadowing, Interviews, Prototypes and Questionnaires etc.)
  • Documents all requirements gathering by developing, using and ensuring compliance with the required standards, methods and tools from the BA Change Management toolkit and Project Management Methodology

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Business Analysis skills required (Requirements gathering, etc.)
  • Business Analysis qualification preferred
  • Demonstrated ability in implementing technological solutions for enhancing business processes
  • System Testing skills and qualification preferred
  • The role requires conceptual thinking and working from first principles and requires a right first time attitude.
  • Actively spots new methodologies and opportunities for change.
  • Problem solving, decision making and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Actively working towards establishing relationships and maintaining contacts with key individuals.
  • Relationship management skills
  • Cross Training (i.e. learn about all systems in order to support colleagues)
  • At least 3 years’ experience within the insurance sector in related roles
