Job Description

My large international client requires a talented BI Platform Manager to join their team of data analysts and BI developers on a permanent basis for an exciting new project.

Job Responsibilities

  • The ideal candidate will make this role their own and slot into a mid-senior level management position where they will have the opportunity to take ownership of their team but will have the opportunity to collaborate with management on big decisions.
  • Responsible for managing and leading a small team of experienced developers through their daily and weekly tasks
  • Be the central point of contact for the BI Platform team in terms of representing the company to external stakeholders and liaising with internal management
  • The Platform Manager must have strong communication skills and have the ability to understand and explain technical concepts across varying levels of technical proficiency
  • Have an oversight in the delivery of all business solutions, from initial analysis to architecture
  • Drive the standards and values of the company from within by having the ability to be challenged personally and to question the status quo
  • Consistently deliver high quality solutions under pressure while adhering to tight deadlines
  • Have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of data analysis and reporting tools (knowledge of specific technologies is less important than having an understanding of the underlying concepts and utility of the tools.)

Essential Skills

  • A third level degree from a recognised educational institution
  • The successful candidate will be a technically qualified people person who wants to manage people, but wants to ensure that they do not lose their technical business intelligence/ solution based skills.
  • A fundamental understanding of the data visualisation and management tools
  • 3+ years of management experience within a technical environment/ role
  • 5+ years of business intelligence development and technology experience
  • Skilled in building relationships of trust among team members and stakeholders
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively with all team members, upper management, external stakeholders and clients
  • The desire to continuously develop both professionally and personally and to be an inspiration to team members

Desirable Skills

  • Cloud certifications
  • Experience in solution architecture
  • Previous business experience and an understanding of commercial interests
  • Previous experience in an Agile environment
