BI Developer – Contract

Overview

The suitable candidate will have solid database development skills, in Microsoft SQL Server, and have a good understanding of Reporting principles ideally with some exposure to SQL Administration. The successful candidate will be working within a team structure responsible for providing reporting services.

Skills

• T- SQL & Report Writing is essential
• Documentation and organisation skills will be key to this role.
• Data Analysis Skills and Investigation
• DBA Experience is preferred
• Must be self-motivated and capable of handling multiple assignments and have the ability to effectively resolve conflicting priorities. This should be complemented by excellent organizational skills, initiative and effective follow up. Must be a self-starter with the ability to work on a one-person project

Responsibilities

• Involvement in the development and deployment of Business Intelligence Solutions
• Documentation of Systems, development and training specifications
• Involvement in the Administration of the Microsoft SQL Database estate
• Cross training, providing documentation and working with the I.T Service Desk will be required also

Requirements

• Proven documentation and organisational skills
• 2 – 3 years commercial experience in SQL Server development
• Excellent SQL and T-SQL coding ability
• Exposure to Report Writing
• Exposure to and understanding of high volumes of data
• Experience with Database Optimization and Administration
• There may be some travel within Europe required. On the job training where necessary will be provided
