Job Description

My Financial Services Client is looking for an Applications Support Manager for a Permanent role based in Dublin.

We are currently seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates for the role of Application Support Manager.

The Job

Reporting to the Head of IT Strategy and Services, the Application Support Manager is responsible for leading a team of IT analysts and developers to provide outstanding Application Support Services to each of our clients across the service delivery platforms.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and implement an IT Service fit for purpose for multi-client/multi-platform operations that delivers on SLAs and KPIs with appropriate reporting.
  • Delivery of IT Services to ensure mission critical systems remain operational and performant.
  • Lead, develop and motivate an Application Support team to ensure it achieves and contributes to its maximum potential.
  • Ensure adequate problem management and Service Improvement plans (SIPs) are utilised to optimise the IT Service operational model.
  • Manage the team to effectively deliver daily application support activities while taking personal responsibility for the delivery of improvement projects in line with the business strategy.
  • Participate in projects/technical infrastructure developments while managing costs, resources, delivery schedules for the application support elements.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and expectations, both internal and external ensuring key deliverables are identified and prioritised.
  • Manage system development priorities and delivery schedules with the Client Change Services team and ensure client solutions adhere to current and future business goals.
  • Review existing methodologies and develop new ways to improve efficiency whilst keeping up to date with technological developments.
  • Any other duties as assigned by your manager.

The Person

The ideal candidate will possess some or all of the following skills and knowledge:

  • Experience of managing an Application Support Team in a client-facing environment.
  • IT Degree or equivalent , or relevant business or technical experience.
  • Strong blend of technical ability, judgement and commercial awareness.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines, within budget and to a high quality.
  • Good knowledge of IT architectures, standard IT practices and how they align to IT delivery.
  • Ideally 5+ years leadership experience preferably in the financial services sector.
  • Knowledge of Financial Services, Life Assurance would be an advantage.
