My Dublin based Financial Services client is looking for an Application Support Technician to join the team permanently.

Responsible For:

Investigate and resolve a range of technical issues affecting business systems by exceeding target SLAs

-Develop strong working relationships with key business members, IT project and development teams and relevant 3rd party vendors

-Escalate high impacting incidents where appropriate and follow up to ensure resolution

-Manage change request process for the applications, verify plans and raise change requests

-Drive continuous improvements by implementing perfective measures that provide business value and enhance functional performance

-Demonstrate flexibility to cope with changing demands based on business priority

-Support of system deployments from business and functional requirements gathering through to delivery to live service, liaising with 3rd party vendors where relevant

-Organising meetings with members of the business, IT and 3rd party vendors to discuss system issues

Requirements:

-IT 3rd Level technical qualification (e.g. computer science degree or similar)

-1-3 years IT experience, preferably in a similar role

-Strong understanding of the SDLC

-Experience in a technical delivery role with a demonstrable ability to deal with a wide range of business areas and 3rd party vendors

-Experience of Database management and SQL programming skills including proficiency in data query structures and exposure to SQL database maintenance practices

-Understanding of ITIL IT Incident and Change processes

-Have strong understanding of IT support services focused on service improvement to identify potential incidents before they occur

-Strong software troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

-Proven ability to prioritise, multi-task and manage own workload according to changing priorities

-Exposure to the following technologies – SQL Server, Java, XML, MySQL

-Strong technical knowledge with ability to articulate complex issues in business terms

-Self-starter and willing to take initiative in problem identification and solutions provision using a systematic and organised approach to their work

-Excellent influencing and communication skills

Desirable Requirements:

-ITIL Foundation V3 certification

-Experience of CRM (Dynamics, SalesForce) and Document Management Systems

-Experience with the following would be an advantage – BMC Remedy, Atlassian suite of products(Jira, Confluence)
