My Dublin-based client is looking for an Application Support Manager to join their team.

My Dublin-based client is looking for an Application Support Manager to join their team. In this role, you will be involved in multiple projects that are aimed at improving healthcare services through the implementation of cutting edge IT applications.

While the job title says ‘Manager’, you will not be managing a team – This is an independent, hands-on role where you will be creating and overseeing policies and procedures around application support and change management in collaboration with an experienced, multi-functional team.

My client is based in Dublin but this role can be done remotely. Although, you must be flexible to come into the Dublin office occasionally for team meetings when required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, write, implement policies and procedures relating to application change management and application support services
  • Ensure application changes follow the prescribed process and manage the change control log
  • Manage and review ticket triage process, and ensure support tickets are managed according to SLAs and KPIs
  • Communicate and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders on application support matters
  • Coordinate with vendors on new software implementation, enhancements and upgrades
  • Respond to incidents from users, escalating issues to vendors and reporting fixes to users

Experience Required

  • 4-10 years’ experience in application support, currently performing at Senior / Lead / Manager level
  • Proven track record of providing high quality application support to users
  • Experience and knowledge of application support policies, procedures, best practices, and change management

Essential and Desirable Skills

  • Strong understanding of policies and procedures around application support
  • Knowledge of application change management and issue management
  • Strong vendor management skills
  • Excellent communication skills to deal with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Self-driven and hands-on with an ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of healthcare applications would be a bonus but not essential
  • Technical skills, such as: SQL, AHK, Jira, API

Educational Requirements

  • Third level degree in IT, Business Systems, or similar field (or equivalent experience)
