My client is seeking a strong application support analyst to join their team in Dublin City Centre.

About the role:

My client is seeking an experienced Application Support Analyst to join their team on a full time permanent basis.  Based in Dublin City Centre and offering a competitive salary and benefits the ideal candidate will have 2+ years’ experience in a similar role.  The client is an established organisation with a well-known brand in its sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that IT applications are available and performing appropriately (within the confines of the technical environment)
  • Delivering & leading on Key projects (managing projects from Design to Implementation)
  • Development / enhancement of small applications to support the client
  • Initiating Ideas for system and process improvements to help business improvement.
  • Business analysis and design role in the implementation of new (or revised) computer systems.
  • Extensive liaison with business units to coordinate requirements and change requests.
  • Translation of requirements into coordinated systems specifications
  • Directly responsible for hands on support of end-users of selected applications
  • Problem investigation, cause determination and issue resolution where possible
  • Prime liaison with software providers on system problems, bug fix development, system enhancements and product developments
  • Structured testing of new software releases.
  • Maintenance, support and validation of inter-system interfaces
  • Application administration, security, development and assignment of usernames/ user profiles
  • Continuous improvement of existing business processes
  • Report development using industry standard tools
  • Leveraging computer applications to support and develop practices in business units
  • Other relevant duties as assigned by the Information Systems Manager
  • Ensure services are brought back to normal operation as soon as possible by managing the resolution and/or escalation of issues or incidents – from 1st level right through to 3rd level support.
  • Ensure any recurring incidents are addressed as part of any new system enhancements, and to minimize the impact of incidents that cannot be prevented.

Experience & Skills

  • Demonstrated track-record of delivering technology improvements to support key areas of the business;
  • SQL Experience essential (ideally in MS SQL Server);
  • Knowledge & experience of database design essential;
  • Knowledge & experience of MS .NET framework essential;
  • Proven hands-on technical skills with at least 2 years relevant experience
  • Strong customer focus, and incident management skills with proven ability to triage, prioritise, and manage IT incidents and see projects through to successful completion.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written & verbal); ability to articulate key technical concepts and ideas in a clear and comprehensible manner to both technical and non-technical staff & customers.
  • Demonstrated track record of a highly pro-active approach.
