Job Description

My global client is seeking an AML Officer. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills alongside a strategic mindset

Job Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the AML Senior Manager,
  • Fulfil the company’s AML requirements through assisting in the AML initiatives.
  • maintain and develop our AML policies and supporting guidance documents; assessing impact of upstream AML regulatory developments.
  • assistance with the preparation of business wide risk assessments and the production of reporting for Senior Management, oversight & tracking of AML projects and completing AML regulatory tasks.
  • The role holder will demonstrate technical expertise on European regulatory requirements and will also require an understanding of operating under Group standards.
  • The candidate will communicate directly with other key European functions

Experience Required

  • 4+ years’ experience in Financial Services and in a compliance, risk or internal control role, preferably three of which should be in AML / Financial Crime.
  • Knowledge of writing AML policies and providing guidance to first line of defense
  • knowledge in the development of an AML framework across a large organisations.
  • track record of practical application of AML risk management practices
  • Knowledge in managing different stakeholders .
  • Knowledge of AML & Sanctions requirements / framework in the EU desirable
  • Experience in interacting with regulators and reporting to committees on AML and financial crime matters;
  • Experience in working as part of a FS group and/or in a multi-jurisdictional firm, is a distinct advantage.

Essential and Desirable Skills

  • Ability to work off own initiative and also as a part of a large team.
  • Ability to think strategically in the development and execution of enterprise-wide AML initiatives;
  • Strong technical knowledge of AML regulations in Ireland and Europe and ability to put into practice in a practical manner in an operational environment
  • Ability to operate in a matrix organisation, build relationships across business lines and strong communications skills;
  • Extensive organisational skills
  • A hunger to succeed
  • Ability to work according to strict time and exceed quality standards.
  • Able to digest complex issues and set a course of action (that others are prepared to follow) to meet specific goals.
  • Strong Microsoft Outlook, Project, Visio, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills

Educational Requirements

  • Relevant 3rd level degree
  • Diploma in Compliance is advantageous
