A Windows Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, installing, administering and optimising Windows servers, as well as any other related components, to achieve and maintain high performance in business. This will usually entail; ensuring the availability of client or server applications, configuring new implementations and developing the processes and procedures for the future. This role is also responsible for the security, safety and integrity of the data centre/server, ensuring that everything is protected.

The ideal candidate will possess strong written and verbal communication skills, along with problem-solving, planning and the ability to work well as a team. As with most network engineer jobs, experience within the IT industry will be beneficial to any application. Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux based environments and the administration and performance tuning of application stacks, such as Tomcat, is essential. To succeed as a Windows System Engineer, you will need an array of key competencies, including technical literacy, attention to detail and perseverance. The role requires you to establish and maintain working relationships with relevant colleagues within the business and utilise a solid networking knowledge to the best of your abilities.
